Kindergarten Admission Process
Admission to St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School is open to students without regard to race or creed on the basis of character, academic promise and the results of testing in the elementary school grades.
The admission process for kindergarten students includes an application form and fee, a parent tour and interview, and a student evaluation session.
Application Form
Parents will need to complete an application and return it along with the application fee of $50.00. A copy of the child’s birth certificate must accompany an application for kindergarten.
Tour and Interview
Parents of applicants need to schedule a tour of the school. Tours begin in November and can be scheduled by calling 805-497-1416.
Evaluation Session
All Kindergarten applicants participate in an evaluation session in January or February.
The school prefers to admit children who will be five years of age by September 1 of the Kindergarten year. Children with birthdays September through November 30 may be evaluated at the discretion of the administration.
Parents should give the confidential evaluation form to the child's current teacher.
Admission Decisions
After the evaluation process is complete, families will be notified of the school’s decisions. An enrollment contract may then be extended.
