Admission Process for Grades 1-6

Admission to St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School is open to students without regard to race or creed on the basis of character, academic promise and the results of testing in the elementary school grades.

The admission process for first grade through sixth grade students includes an application form and fee, a parent tour and interview, and a placement evaluation session.

Application Form

Parents will need to complete an application and return it along with the application fee of $50.00.

Tour and Interview

Parents also need to schedule a tour of the school.  Tours begin in November and can be scheduled by calling 805-497-1416.

Placement Evaluations

Placement evaluations will take place in late winter or as space becomes available at other times during the year. Prospective students spend a morning with the class they might join and experience a typical morning’s activities. During this morning visit, each student will complete grade level tasks in reading, math and writing and have an interview with the Head of School.

Parents should give the confidential evaluation form to the student's current teacher.

Parents should bring copies of the child’s recent standardized test results and report cards to the school.

Admission Decisions

After the evaluation process is complete, applicant families will be notified of results and the school’s decision. Depending on these results and the availability of openings, an enrollment contract may be extended to the applicant family.
